You still have time to see...
Until February 17th, 2020, you still have time to see, as part of the museum’s Contemporary Counterpoint series, the exhibition entitled Reflections and Penetration, showcasing the work of Patrick Tosani. This creator has been exploring the possibilities offered by the photographic process for over forty years. With his Cuillères series (1988), Tosani returns to his theme of reflections and the issue of scale, thus tracing a singular path that questions reality and transforms it into both a physical and a meditative experience.
Exhibitions upcoming in 2020
Giorgio de Chirico; Metaphysical Painting
This exhibition dedicated to Giorgio de Chirico examines the career and artistic and philosophical influences that inspired the 20th century Italian artist. The founder of metaphysical painting, an artistic current combining everyday reality with mythology and a look at the strangeness beneath the surface of things and places, presents in his works a series of enigmatic images without explanation, thus creating a mysterious universe of haunting moods and illogical perspectives. (From April 1st to July 13th, 2020).
Soutine / De Kooning
This exhibition looks back on the turning point that occurred in the work of Willem de Kooning when, in the 1930s, he encountered the reality distorting paintings of the early 20th century Russian-French artist Chaïm Soutine. The exhibition establishes a dialogue between the distinctive creative worlds of the two artists through some fifty works grouped by themes such as the contrast between form and formlessness, figures and landscapes and the studio. (Until January 25th, 2021)
