A woman's journey through the 20th century
This magnificent exhibition, which brings together pieces from major international museums as well as the Chanel archives and private collections, is called Gabrielle Chanel: Manifeste de Mode (Fashion Manifesto). Through a dual approach that is both chronological and thematic, we are shown Gabrielle Chanel's commitment to revolutionising the world of couture and fashion’s relationship with the female body. From her debut in the 1910s, through the Roaring Twenties to her reaction to the Dior style in the 1950s, she left her mark on the world of fashion. Throughout her remarkable career, Chanel constantly reaffirmed a true fashion manifesto.

The Palais Galliera is organising a range of activities around this exceptional exhibition. To find out more, you can of course opt for a classic guided tour or a guided family tour that will interest even the youngest. You can also sign up for themed workshops that will put a needle and thread in your hand and lead you to discover the Chanel style and its famous quilted bag, among other iconic creations.
