On September 17th and 18th, the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days) will be held for the 39thtime. As every year, the event open the doors of major sites and monuments, free of charge, as well as places, buildings and institutions closed to the public the rest of the time. The 8th arrondissement, as well as the nearby streets, are renowned for their many performance halls. And the tradition is not new. A few streets away, the National Order of Pharmacists exhibits its little-known heritage. Old objects used to make remedies are displayed alongside archival documents, taking the visitor on a journey into the history of pharmacy practices through the centuries. Finally, discover the district’s covered passages and galleries. They hold treasures!
